Politics of IPL

Hello,

I am writing this blog in respect to some recent controversial("So called by Indian Media") development in Indian cricket regarding inclusion of Pakistani players in IPL 3. Everyone have their own views on such issues as you might have seen recently on any Indian news channel. Some bluntly support it without any rational reasoning, and some oppose it. They too did it without any rational or logical reasoning.

Recently the Shiv Sena, a political right wing Hindu party made a protest against the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Mr. Sharukh Khan. They were protesting on a comment made my Mr. Khan that Pakistani players should be welcomed in IPL-III. Shiv Sena is opposing it and their view is that in wake of 26/11 attack on Mumbai, No Pakistani players should be invited in IPL-III.

Well, I have some questions to Mr. Khan
1. Why his team KKR have not picked any Pakistani player in IPL-III auction ?
2. If Pakistani players were not having their visa ready at time of auction, why Mr. Khan is raising this question now?
3. If Mr. Khan was interested in picking some Pakistani player, why he didn't speak to Govt. of India to expedite their visa? and perhaps he had spoken to Govt, what was the Govt answer ?
4. Why he is not speaking about exclusion of Australian players from IPL-III ? Are not they talented players ?

My concern is why no body( Including Home minister P Chidambaram, Mr. Lalit Modi and Mr. Khan) talks about this issue when auctions were going on ? Whats the motive Mr. Khan have, in raising this question now ? Is not he turning a simple event in a controversy ?

Every team owner have rights to decide which players they want in their team and which not. But at same time, these team owner must remember that they are speaking in a nation of billion where cricket is biggest event and Pakistan is seen as biggest Evil.

Now lets talk about Shiv Sena. This hardline hindu party in past had made many hatred remarks about Pakistani players. How logical it is to say that we will not allow Pakistani players to play just because they are from a country with which India have bad relations ? Why this party is mixing sports with politics ? Why this party is not speaking against Australian player, a country where many Indians are being mistreated and misbehaved on daily basis ? Every day, the Indian media comes up with some new misbehaving incident with Indian in Australia. Is Shiv Sena blind, deaf or they intentionally exploiting the issue of Pakistani player just because it is related to Pakistan ? Are not this party behaving in suspicious way ? Are they really care about IPL or they are opportunistic in scoring votes and gaining their lost political ground in Maharashtra ? Well, their behaviors are suspicious and it seems that they have no interest
either in Indian cricket or in 26/11 incident. They just want to take advantage of this opportunity.

It seems that both the team owners and political parties are intentionally exploiting this simple issue to score advantage in their favors.

At the end, remember that what you see, what you hear is not always the TRUTH.
